I must make you aware of the legal ‘bits and pieces’ here. For any marriage to
be recognised in law in England & Wales, a legally binding ceremony, known
as a ‘Registration of Marriage’ MUST take place.
This is normally at a Register Office. The same applies to a civil partnership.
This is usually a very short service no more than 15-20 minutes long.
You can also choose to have a Register Office ceremony without a ring
exchange or vows. Once you’ve booked your Register Office wedding then
you have the freedom to choose any location or venue to hold your bespoke
celebration with the support of a Celebrant.
In rough terms the total cost of a register office wedding is around
£130.00. This includes notices, room hire and marriage certificate.
